Smita P.'s Story

Smita belongs to the low caste of Nepal. There is caste discrimination in her society, and they still face it daily in public areas and the community. They are not allowed to live with higher caste people, and if they touch their belongings, it is considered inauspicious. She lives with her mother, who works as a housemaid, and she lost her father at a young age. She has to depend on her mother’s daily wages for food, clothing, and basic needs. Her mother works as a laborer in the construction field. During the daytime, Smita is alone at home, so there is a chance of trafficking and other risks. She is coming to church with believer’s children. She wants to continue her studies. She needs a sponsor for her bright future.
