Chalen N.'s Story

After her mother’s death during child birth, Chalen was raised by her maternal grandmother. Her grandmother could not afford her school as she is a peasant farmer and yet has a number of children to support. With hope to support Chalen, her aunt took her on.

The aunt has been struggling to send her to school. Chalen’s aunt is currently financially constrained as she does not have a job and yet she has to support 3 other children whose father is not supportive. This has affected the child’s education as most times she is sent back home due the aunt’s failure to pay school fees.

Chalen’s father’s whereabouts are unknown. Chalen has a passion for a medical field and desires to become a medical personnel member in the future. An opportunity through sponsorship will be of a great help to this child to empower her and protect her from any risk of school dropout and child marriage.
