Rodrick M.'s Story

Rodrick is the third born of his parents. He is currently in primary/grade two. Due to financial constraints, Rodrick was not able to attend school in 2024 since his mother could not afford. Rodrick’s mother struggles to make ends meet with little support from his father who often dodges his responsibility. This has directly impacted on Rodrick and set him back in his school life.

Rodrick helps his mother with work in the evening at the road side where she roasts corn for sale. This does not in any way help the child but rather increases his chances of losing interest in school since it has been continuous ever since he dropped out of school. Rodrick’s mother was hoping that the father would have mercy and return his son to school this year but all seems to be in vain.

Rodrick longs to go to school and enjoy the privilege of not having to be sent back home for school fees. An opportunity through the sponsorship program would mean restoring his hope for the future.
