Josephine N.'s Story

Abandoned by her biological mother at just two years old, Josephine has been under the care of by her grandmother. The grandmother cares for two other grandchildren in her household and relies mainly on subsistence farming.
Despite the challenges, Josephine’s biological father provides some financial support for her education hence leaving the family to struggle to meet other basic necessities. The financial support from the father is often times inconsistent. Josephine’s mother’s whereabouts are unknown. The grandmother toils tirelessly to provide for the family relying on small scale farming growing bananas, coffee, and beans. Despite these hardships, Josephine’s passion for learning remains unbroken with much hope and built dream of becoming a teacher.
