Emmanuel lives with his grandmother after the separation of his parents. His parents do not give child support given the fact that they o not have a stable source of income. Emmanuel’s grandmother takes care of three other grandchildren. To earn a living, Emmanuel’s grandmother sells roasted peanuts. The money she gets through this activity is just a drop in an ocean and therefore struggles to support the grandchildren to get quality education.
Due to limited finances, Emmanuel has been in and out of school for some terms and this saddens both him and his grandmother as he does not visualize a bright future knowing he will drop out of school someday. Emmanuel has a desire to go to school and become a pilot someday. However, with the parents and grandmother’s financial struggles his chances of achieving his dream are less to none. We recommend Emmanuel to benefit from the sponsorship program to break the Cyle of poverty in his family.
