Jovan B.'s Story

Jovan is currently facing an uncertain future due to a series of unfortunate events that have left his family in a hard situation. Jovan’s mother, who is his primary caregiver, suffers from epilepsy. Recently, she suffered a severe burn injury after falling into a fire. This incident has left her with debilitating physical limitations, rendering her unable to seek employment or provide for her family’s basic needs. Further still, Jovan’s father has disowned the family, and his relatives on the paternal side have refused to offer any support. The family’s sole reliance on the mother’s meager resources has been further compromised by her current incapacitation. As a result of these cumulative challenges, Jovan is currently out of school, with no prospect of returning to school without help. The family resides in Mukono, where they face significant economic and social hardships.
