Peace K.'s Story

Peace is eight years of age; she lives with her maternal grandmother who recently got an accident due to alcohol use. Peace has to cook and wash for all 5 members in this home, fetch water, collect firewood for cooking and nurse her 54-year-old grandmother. Peace’s mother remarried and her current husband detested Peace a reason as to why the grandmother decided to live with her.Peace’s grandmother does not have a stable source of income and therefore, ever since the child went to her home peace has not been at school. The child however wants to go to school and pursue a medical career. However, this is not possible given the fact that she dropped out of school in 2023. We believe that if she is given an opportunity through sponsorship, her chances of achieving her dream of becoming a nurse will increase.
