Deborah W.'s Story

Deborah lives with her single mother in the Kaliro District. Many children from this household have dropped out of school and married due to the mother’s inability to provide school fees. Deborah’s parents separated. Deborah’s mother together with her children are currently living at a friend’s home and they are at a risk of eviction in case the owner wants to use her house.
At the time of assessment, Deborah was at home while children her age were at school. This is because her mother had failed to pay school fees or buy scholastic materials.
We believe that if Deborah is given an opportunity through sponsorship, she will achieve her dream of becoming a teacher and hence transforming her community.
