Jiban is a boy from central Nepal who has faced significant challenges from a very young age. Shortly after he was born, his mother left the family and has never returned. His father struggles with serious mental health challenges and does not live at home, leaving Jiban without the care and support of either parent.
For a time, Jiban lived with neighbors, but they were unable to provide him with the safe and consistent care he needed. Concerned individuals eventually brought him to a monastery, where he could live safely and receive some education. However, his education there focused primarily on Buddhist teachings and prayers, and he did not have the opportunity to study subjects such as math, science, or language. He also lacked the love, encouragement, and emotional support that are so important for a child’s development.
After learning about Jiban’s circumstances, a friend reached out to our partner’s organization for help. We welcomed Jiban into our home, where he can now receive care, support, and access to a more complete education. Sponsorship will help provide Jiban with the education and resources he needs to grow, learn, and build a brighter future.
