Justina lives with her grandmother after her biological parents separated several years ago and left her in the grandmother’s sole care. The grandmother is elderly and physically weak, relying on small-scale subsistence farming to survive. Her limited income is not enough to meet the household’s basic needs, including supporting Justina’s education.
Because school fees could not be paid consistently, Justina was frequently sent home from school, causing her to miss important lessons and, at times, repeat classes after missing end-of-year examinations. This year, her grandmother was unable to pay any school fees at all, resulting in Justina dropping out of school and remaining at home. She now spends much of her time caring for younger children or moving around the community, while her biological parents have provided no support for nearly five years.
Despite these hardships, Justina remains hopeful and determined. She dreams of returning to school and becoming a medical doctor one day. With sponsorship support, Justina would have the opportunity to resume her education, regain stability, and work toward a future filled with purpose and hope.
