Hariet M.'s Story

Hariet lives with her mother in a single rented room. Her mother earns a small income through casual work on nearby sugarcane plantations, which helps cover only the family’s most basic needs. Although she made efforts to enroll Hariet in school, financial challenges made it impossible to keep up with school fees, causing Hariet to miss an entire school term.

In 2024, Hariet’s father abandoned the family and returned to his home country, Rwanda. Since then, he has not provided any support or communication. Hariet has a strong desire to learn and often expresses sadness when she sees other children attending school while she remains at home. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day so she can help care for the sick. Sponsorship would allow Hariet to return to school, restore her hope, and give her a fair chance to pursue her dreams.
