Ian B.'s Story

Ian is a young boy living with his maternal grandmother, who has taken full responsibility for his care. After his biological parents separated and stopped providing support, his grandmother became his sole caregiver. She depends on casual labor and small-scale farming to meet the family’s basic needs and to keep the children in school.

Because of ongoing financial hardship, Ian has been sent home from school multiple times due to unpaid fees and was unable to sit for his end-of-year examinations in 2025. The grandmother is responsible for caring for sixteen children in the household, a burden that stretches her limited resources. The family often survives on only one meal a day, underscoring the severity of their situation.

Despite these challenges, Ian and his grandmother remain hopeful. Ian longs to return to school and dreams of becoming a pastor so he can share the Word of God and encourage others. With sponsorship support, Ian would have the opportunity to continue his education and move toward a future filled with purpose and hope.
